Working with Japanese hand tools has opened up a whole new world to me that I never knew existed. The ability to use only a few simple tools (simple on the surface at least) to make objects of beauty and functionality for myself and others has become a practice I can’t live without. To slow down my mind and body, get lost in learning the tools, techniques, and material is a joy I can’t replace.
Are you interested in a quiet and more focused form of woodworking?
I’m currently offering private one on one instruction on Fridays and Saturdays between 9am-5pm in person at my studio in Garfield, NJ or through a virtual meeting. Send me an email for inquiries.
Do you have a tool or technique you’re struggling to find answers for?
I also offer an hourly video call to help you work through any issue you may be having with tools or techniques. Send me an email with your questions and we’ll schedule a time to meet when I’m in the studio.
My hope through teaching this wonderful craft is to share this experience with you, and invite you to join me on this lifelong pursuit of working wood.
